Using the social networking websites, you can have personal relationship that can be business relationships too.
If your main focus is having a business relationship only, then you should work on developing it correctly into a personal one as well. But here's the point that I want to make clear to you, having a business relationship only can have a downside. This is why you want to make it a personal one too.
If your relationship is business only, then you have to realize that at some point you may find yourself competing against each other.
Understand that competition is a great thing between you and your business contacts. However you still need to work on having a personal relationship with them too. So that you both can get to know, like and trust each other, the benefits of getting to know someone personally can be very beneficial and rewarding in the long run.
Using social networking websites, you can have 1,000 contacts, but can you talk with all of them at one time. Of course not, however by attempting to connect with the people by interacting with them on social media (via post they share) and learning more about them on a personal and business level. It will help you and your business.
So you see there still has to be a personal connection and interaction/communication via social networking sites, because it has to be developed first. This is a MUST that you develop your personal and business contacts. When you do this, you'll have lifelong friends/business associates that will always be there for support during good and bad times.
